Merstham Boot Library
KICK sponsored the Merstham Boot Library when it opened back at the start of 2023. They have helped well over 200 children and adults with football boots across Merstham, Caterham, Redhill and Reigate, as well as inspiring another local football club to start their own boot library and helped provide them with boots to get started. They currently have a healthy stock of over 200 football boots and a good amount of shin pads, goalie gloves and socks.
Local 9 year old, Jude Rivers, who set up the scheme and is a regular volunteer, also won a local Reigate and Banstead Sports Award for Young Volunteer for her help with the boot library!
In June 2024, KICK contributed additional funds to support the expansion of the boot library, specifically for the development of an insulated, damp-proof storage facility to ensure the safekeeping of boots.
Future plans for the library include establishing a dedicated space and expanding to provide additional gear beyond just boots. We look forward to seeing the boot library continue to grow!
