Young Champions Haven

After struggling to find local support for young carers in Southall, Sukhmani and Mehreen created Young Champions Haven — a club that offers fun, friendship, and a safe space for young carers to share experiences. 

Their project has already sparked change: students who didn’t realise they were carers have found recognition and support, and the school’s safeguarding team is strengthening its provision as a result. 

In June, their work was honoured during Young Carers Week with events that raised awareness, encouraged dialogue, and celebrated resilience.
