Pottery Wheels

In 2010, KICK contributed towards the cost of additional pottery throwing wheels at Dormers Wells High School in Southall. These were donated to aid their new hands-on art courses aimed at developing professional skills. We were delighted to receive this note from the school highlighting some of the positive results.

The success of the course can partly be attributed to KICK who gave us a generous donation, helping us to purchase two professional pottery wheels and various raw materials used in making glazes as well as some specialist glass materials. These fantastic wheels have enabled the students to learn how to throw small to medium sized bowls, which look very professional. Without these powerful pottery wheels the course would not have been as exciting and rewarding for our students.

It enabled us to explore different aspects of ceramics from various different cultures and centuries and even have a go at producing our own examples. The school is very grateful to KICK and the students would like to say thank you.
